If have a For My Tax account, you may access, update, or delete some of your information from within your account.
We will request your personal information, such as your name, address, state of residence, email address, phone number, last four digits of your social security number, and birth year, to verify your identity to process your request.
If you are a California resident, you may designate an authorized agent to submit a request on your behalf. To have an authorized agent submit a request on your behalf, we require you to submit a form that verifies your identity and that you have authorized the agent to act on your behalf. How We Protect And Retain Information
We use reasonable administrative, technical, and physical efforts to protect your personal information from unauthorized access, use, or disclosure. If we are required by law to inform you of a breach of your personal information, we may notify you electronically, in writing, or by telephone if permitted to do so by law.
You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your For My Tax account’s password, and you are responsible for any access to or use of your account by someone else who has obtained your password, whether or not you have authorized such access or use. You should notify us of any unauthorized use of your password or account. If an unauthorized profile has been created about you, please get in touch with us by clicking here to request to delete it.
We retain your personal information for only as long as necessary to comply with applicable laws or regulatory requirements, serve you, maintain your account, operate our business, improve our offerings, or develop new ones, or otherwise fulfill the purposes outlined in this Notice, including satisfying any legal, accounting, or reporting requirements, unless a more extended retention period is required or permitted by law.
